Village Hall Facilities

Yelling Village Hall occupies the buildings of the old village school.  There are four rooms downstairs, including a fitted and well-equipped kitchen, a bar and a large social area.

The main Hall, with dimensions of 10 by 5.3 metres (approx.) has a hatch to the bar and still has the original stained pine floor.  It is a light and airy south-facing room, and backs onto a patio and grassed area which can be accessed directly from the Hall.

There is a barbecue, and a number of benches and tables for alfresco dining.  Access and facilities are in place for users with disabilities.

The Hall is available for hire by residents and non-residents of the village.  It is suitable for meetings, classes, clubs, large social events and meals, as well as parties.  Children’s parties are particularly popular as it is an excellent location in summer or winter, with plenty of space for games and even a bouncy castle.

Local bands often practise in the Hall and are complimentary about the acoustics of the room.

The rates of hire are kept as low as possible to encourage regular use of this excellent facility.   See the Hall Hire Rates page for details.

The Management Committee works hard to maintain and improve the upkeep and development of the premises and equipment.  This is supported by fund-raising by the Events Committee and grants from the Cotton Farm Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund, the Amey Community Fund and Huntingdonshire District Council.
