Sponsor a villager running the London Marathon?
From Simon Dell:
Hi All,
With only 8 weeks to go I’ve secured a very late entry place on the London Marathon, running for the Fields In Trust (FIT) Charity. www.fieldsintrust.org

Fields in Trust’s flagship program, headed by its Patron The Duke of Cambridge, aims to protect 2012 outdoor recreational spaces in communities all across the country as a permanent living legacy of the Queens Diamond Jubilee year and the Olympic Games in London.
Fields in Trust is the only independent UK wide charity dedicated to protecting and improving outdoor space for sport, play and recreation. Formed in 1925 as the National Playing Fields Association we aim to ensure that everyone - young or old, able or disabled and whether they live in an urban or rural area – has access to free, local facilities for healthy outdoor activities. Outdoor spaces have a vital role to play in creating healthy communities helping not only to increase physical activity but also to foster social cohesion and improve the local environment.
The work is as vital and relevant now as it was back in 1925 with outdoor spaces continuing to come under threat from development every single week. Currently 1281 sites are protected all across the country totaling 8798 acres ensuring that future generations will have access to outdoor space for sport, play and recreation.
I’m very fortunate that I live in large open area with access to outdoor space, but not everyone does. By safeguarding outdoor space for all, we can be sure that future generations can enjoy the benefits that the outdoors can bring.

Oil Syndicate
Our experience is that oil provided through a one supplier syndicate is no cheaper than ringing round for the best price. We try to order late winter and late summer when prices, historically are most reasonable.
So this is the plan for Yelling: When Bob Turvey orders he will contact syndicate members for their requirement. He will then ring around 8 suppliers to get the best spot price for the syndicate quantity and advise members of delivery. Syndicate members will be responsible for paying the supplier in the usual way.
Hope that’s OK? Each penny a litre off is a bonus. If you have additional ideas, please let Bob T know on rturvey@enablingdevelopment.com or 880709.
