(Front Row) Ian Reed, Sam Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Mike Humphreys, Harry Hubbard. ______________________________________________________________________________________________YELLING v GT WILBRAHAM     Saturday 7^th June 2008 Gordon Ascroft MBE, President of Yelling Cricket Club, was entertained on a dull, damp day by his son Christopher, Chairman of Wilbraham Sports Club.After an excellent lunch where officials of both Clubs met & exchanged memories of days gone by,Yelling were put into bat on a flat damp wicket & very slow outfield where runs were hard to come by but with grandson Dominic Ascroft-Walker scoring  23   and the other grandson Jonathan bowling well for his home side a score of 140 seemed quite respectable.After tea the weather improved slightly and with a blistering spell of bowling from Dominic, taking 5 wickets for 19 runs, Yelling seemed destined to win.     An outstanding innings of 75 from young Adrian Drake changed the whole complexion of the game and finally Jonathan won the game for Wilbraham with a perfect shot to the boundary.Whilst Gt.Wilbraham won, Grandfather Ascroft was very proud of his two grandsons who played significant parts in either team.    A most enjoyable game was watched by enthusiastic supporters from both villages and

the return match which will be played at Yelling on the 9^th August is eagerly awaited.
